How Road Cuts into Forest Lands Encourage Flooding

Rain-on-Snow events, caused by opening up forest canopies through logging practices that introduce roads and open ground to the forest floor, prevents the interception of rain by trees and other vegetation that slows its fall to the soil. Consequently, mud and debris slides can result blocking highways or damage homes and fields of crops.
