Barter Faire History & What to Bring
The Barter Faire has a history in the Pacific Northwest that stretches back to 1974. To date there have been over 100 faires conducted in three western states (WA, ID, OR) and British Columbia. Since a small city that a Barter
Faire becomes with upwards of several thousand visitors, it is important to respect the spirit of the faire and the rights of those attending.
The weather at the faires is not always cooperative for living and enjoying the outdoors character of faires, so come prepared with shelter, clothing, drinking water, trading or selling goods, musical instruments, and the spirit of sharing and having fun.
